What an amazing 2 weeks! From the 'Go' last October to coming home from the first Air Race after a three year hiatus . .  so much has been achieved by the organisational team and all the race teams.

The first day at the Ras al Kaimah training base was spent re-assembling the MXS and then Hux spent the next two days exchanging all the old wiring and equipment for the latest data and video transmission equipment. Such is the pace of technology that we went from more than 20kgs of kit to something like 7kgs.
After a week of testing and training, we headed down to Abu Dhabi. The weather was brilliant all week (a nice change from all the rain and cold we've had this year at home) and we found that the track was a little easier to fly than the one in Ras.

My Super 8 race turned out to be something of a disappointment - a couple of slightly too relaxed pulls is all it took to end up further down the sheets than I had been in Qualifying and the Top 12. BUT . . having headed to the hold thinking my time would put me 8th, I was relieved to end up 5th with 4 Championship points.

On the plus side, we all came away feeling really positive about the rest of the season . . the new regulations seem destined to give us and the fans a very competitive and exciting Championship and I have a lot to thank Breitling and my team for . . Hux has provided me with a competitive machine and Vicky and Becci's organisation ensured a relaxed atmosphere in which to compete . . all I have to do is learn to be less relaxed and more aggressive on the track! I can't wait for the next race in Rovinj, Croatia.
